Easy Limoncello recipe that makes a sweet and smooth citrus liqueur
Ingredients:
- external peel of 5/6 lemons (very important: use only the yellow part)
- 500ml of 90-95% neutral alcohol
- 400g of sugar
- 500ml of water
Method:
- Remove the lemon zest from the lemons
- Place lemon zest with the 500ml of alcohol, in a sealed Jar.
- Leave to soak for 10 days in a cool dark place.
After 10 days
- Place 500ml of water in a pot and add 400g of sugar
- place pot on the stove and warm up
- keep mixing till the simple sugar goes clear
- allow to cool
- filter the lemon and alcohol threw a strainer.
- Add simple sugar to the mixture and combine.
- Once mixed it’s ready to bottle your Limoncello
